Food Recovery Network Info Session

Interested in fighting food waste and alleviating food insecurity in Rice County? Join the Food Recovery Network! We recover food from Carleton’s dining halls that would otherwise be composted and give it to community organizations in Rice County. We need volunteers every weekday evening to package food as well as volunteers to drive the food to various community partner sites.

Come to our information session to learn more about the program.
Northfield community members are welcome too– we have lots of volunteer opportunities!

MN350 Annual Gala for Climate Justice

On Thursday, October 5th people like you who care about the future of the Earth will come together at Let’s Be Heard: MN350’s first annual Gala for Climate Justice. We will learn how our voices can be joined to make an impact on local, state, national, and international levels. This will be an uplifting evening of hope, information, and inspiration for all of us whether we are new to the issues or long time advocates of Climate Justice.

All proceeds directly support the ongoing outreach of MN350, an innovative people powered Minnesota-based 501(c)3 organization that has the expertise, partnerships, and dedication to work every day to confront the climate crisis and help create a just and sustainable world. Progress is being made. Much more needs to be done. Come to support this essential work. It will be a lively, encouraging evening.

Before the Flood (starring Leonardo DiCaprio)

If you could know the truth about the threat of climate change — would you want to know? Before the Flood, presented by National Geographic, features Leonardo DiCaprio on a journey as a United Nations Messenger of Peace, traveling to five continents and the Arctic to witness climate change firsthand. He goes on expeditions with scientists uncovering the reality of climate change and meets with political leaders fighting against inaction. He also discovers a calculated disinformation campaign orchestrated by powerful special interests working to confuse the public about the urgency of the growing climate crisis. With unprecedented access to thought leaders around the world, DiCaprio searches for hope in a rising tide of catastrophic news.
